DETROIT (AP) -- The Detroit Red Wings, seeking to shore up their defence as they prepare to defend their Stanley Cup title, acquired Dmitri Mironov from the Anaheim Mighty Ducks and Jamie Macoun from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.

 The Wings got Mironov in exchange for Jamie Pushor and a fourth-round pick in this year's entry draft. They gave up a fourth-round draft pick for Macoun.

 Mironov, 32, had six goals and 30 assists in 66 games with the Mighty Ducks, while the 25-year-old Pushor had two goals and five assists in 54 games with the Red Wings.

 "We have been looking to upgrade our defence and to be able to acquire a player of Dmitri Mironov's skill and experience is an excellent move for us," Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said. "He will be able to help us down the stretch run and into the playoffs."

 Mironov had career-high totals of 13 goals and 39 assists last season to finish sixth among NHL defencemen in scoring.

 During the playoffs last year, Mironov recorded 11 points in 11 games for his best postseason since he got 15 points over 18 games with Toronto in 1994.

 An eighth-round selection by Toronto in 1991, Mironov has played for three teams in seven NHL seasons. He was traded at the beginning of last season from Pittsburgh to Anaheim.
