It's uncertain if the Blackhawks have any real intentions of re-signing impending unrestricted free agent Denis Arkhipov, reports the Chicago Daily Herald. 

Arkhipov's number 19 has already been given to Jonathan Toews and when asked if the Hawks want him back or not, GM Dale Tallon said, "maybe, at the right price." 

Arkhipov made $900,000 last season and the Daily Herald claims the Hawks' "right price" isn't that figure. 

Meanwhile, Michal Handzus remains unsigned but has been considering a contract offer from Tallon.   
   
"There's still a month [before the free-agent signing period begins]," Tallon told the Chicago Sun-Times. "We're still hoping to get something done, but we've got a plan for if he's here and another for if he's not here." 

According to the Sun-Times, the Hawks' payroll is expected to be about $45 million, up from $38 million.
