Right winger Alexander Mogilny, who returned after missing five games with an abdominal strain, improved the Devils' power play and overall offense. However, Mogilny said he did not come back with the idea of carrying the team. 

"I don't think like that. It takes a whole team to be successful," he said. "We had a couple of guys out, six key players. That's why we've been struggling. I don't put pressure on myself to go out and win a game. I'm capable of doing that, but I just want to contribute." 

Mogilny played his first game since Feb. 14 and had two assists. 

"I've been practicing the last couple of days pain-free. That was the measuring stick," Mogilny said. "I have a golf-ball sized scar tissue (in his abdomen), but it doesn't bother me. I was very upset that I couldn't play with the injury. I couldn't let it go for a couple of days after it happened. It was eating me inside, but it was something I had to deal with." 

When Mogilny was activated yesterday, left winger Sergei Brylin was placed on injured reserve. Brylin underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair damaged cartilage in his right knee on Saturday.
