Evgeny Svechnikov agrees to a 1 year deal with Sharks. 3 сентября 2022 года. Hockeyfeed.com National Hockey league forward Evgeny Svechnikov has extended his career in the league by at least one more season. On Saturday it was announced that Svechnikov, who was previously an unrestricted free agent, had come to terms on a new 1 year contract with the San Jose Sharks. According to Cap Friendly, this will be a two way deal for the Russian forward, one that will pay him the league minimum salary of $750,000 at the NHL level and a salary of $350,000 at the American Hockey League level. The Winnipeg Jets surprised some when they opted not to extend Svechnikov, who was a restricted free agent at the time, a qualifying offer at the conclusion of the 2021 - 2022 NHL regular season. Their decision not to do so has led to Svechnikov signing with the San Jose Sharks on a very low-risk type of deal for the Sharks organization. Svechnikov is coming off a season that saw him make 72 appearances for the Winnipeg Jets, by far the most games he has played in a single season during his short NHL career, scoring 7 goals and adding 12 assists for 19 points over his tenure in Winnipeg. The 25 year old forward is a former first round pick of the Detroit Red Wings, who selected him 19th overall at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. In spite of his draft pedigree however, Svechnikov has just 113 total NHL games under his belt. Over the course of those games he has scored 12 goals and registered 19 assists for 31 career points in the league. |
