Playing for Barry Melrose, in was my first two seasons in the NHL, everything was new for me: the lifestyle, hockey, language and everything. The team was filled with veterans, guys who played 10 or more years in the league. Guys like Wayne Gretzky, Jari Kurri, Marty McSorley, Paul Coffey and Kelly Hrudey. At the time, I didn't really understand the chance Barry was giving me. Now I appreciate it more looking back and would like to thank Barry for letting me play, because we had a lot of good players on that team that had more experience than I did.

If he is going to play behind Dominik for next season, any goalie is going to lose something. Next season, with Dom announcing he is coming back, it is going to be hard for him to get some playing time. Marty is one of those guys that is always ready to play. If you need him to play tomorrow, he will be able to play. He is still very young, so he will only get better. 

From: peter.hortman@dot.state.ga.us Alexi, I've watched throughout the season, the team has been up and down (and down some more). As the team has played better, you have gotten more agressive. Is your more open play (ex: Leading the 3 on 2 vs. the Rangers on 3/1) due to Lindy or have you changed something else? 

I have had a couple conversations with coach and he said that I am the kind of player that just can't sit back and play defense. He thinks my best game is when I play aggressive. I know that I have been taking to many penalties lately, especially too many unnecessary penalties. I think of it like as if you are driving a car really fast and you try to stop really quickly. Most of the time you can't, and you make penalties.
